100th Day of School!

Jacob has been preparing for this day for a while. He was sooo excited to wear his shirt covered with 100 googley eyes to school today! The Kindergartners and the 1st Graders (who dressed up like they were 100 years old) had a parade and then released 100 balloons! It was fun :)

Watching the balloons fly away...

Each child had an instrument too, talk about a HEADACHE!!! 200 kids, each with a bell, tambourine, or drum!!! What were they thinking?!?!?

All 100 balloons were released at the end of the parade.

Jordan HAD to be part of the action!

Jacob's First Basketball season

is going to be good, well, maybe I should say...interesting. He loves to play, but he needs some work. He did make his first basket today, unfortunately it was in the 30 minute practice prior to the game. Oh well, it's a start. Jacob has gone from a preschooler that was forceful and somewhat aggressive to a grade schooler who is afraid to knock the ball out of his opponents hand. We spent so much time when he was two and three working on behavior, not invading someone's personal space etc. and now it seems we're backpedaling, and he is not taking to it very well. He has turned out to be a very well mannered, soft spoken, sensitive little boy, which is great in every aspect of life, except for sports. Life lesson #978234768543456 never underestimate your child's potential. I was convinced that Jacob would be the "bully" but he is quite the opposite, now I just wish we hadn't made him such a softy, such is life I guess!

and a few of Jordan for good measure...
