On the Edge...

of a breakdown! Jacob has been sick for the last 9 days. Not just the run of mill cold, either. Full blown throwing up, severe abdominal cramping, coughing, and sore throat. After 2 trips to the ER, 4 days of missed school and a trip to the pediatrician we have an initial diagnosis, walking pneumonia (http://www.drgreene.com/21_206.html). His Dr. isn't sure that this is what he has, but has decided to treat him for it and see if it works. He is now on an anti-spasmotic and erythomycin. We take him back to the doc on Friday for a recheck, let's hope he's on the mend by then!

As if that isn't enough, Josh went to the Dr. today and it looks like he will be needing an esophageal angioplasty sometime in the near future. The procedure seems to be fairly straight forward, and the recovery should be easy as well. Here's more info: http://www.gihealth.com/html/education/photo/esophagealDilation.html

We made our travel plans for Christmas! We are so excited to be going home for the holidays. The kids can't wait, I probably shouldn't have told them , they're already asking how long till we leave! We get into Denver on December 17 and will be in town until January 4! Can't wait!

I'm jumping on the blog bandwagon...

Since the move we've found it to be even harder to keep in touch with all of our friends and family, maybe this will make it a little easier!

Life has been crazy here, not that that is anything out of the ordinary ;) Jacob has been in Kindergarten for 3 weeks now, and he is loving it. He doesn't tell me a whole lot about what he's learning, but I do hear about kids pooping on the floor, getting the dreaded "red star" for misbehaving and other general misgivings that go on in Kindergarten! Every other day he has Wellness (known to the rest of us as P.E.), on alternating days he has music and art. He was very upset last week because it was Grandparents Day and all the G-Parents came to school...except for his :( Talk about guilt...

Jordan is the same old spit fire she has been for God knows how long. She is full of personality, I find myself laughing out loud at her every day, she has the greatest facial expressions and voice inflections, she really is a funny little girl. She is lonely without her brother, so I am on a quest to find her a playgroup so she can make some friends, and maybe I'll find some too!

We're looking forward to the weather cooling off here. The summer wasn't nearly as miserable as we had expected but now that we're consistently in the low 90's we are really enjoying the "cool" down (how ridiculous that 90's is a COOL down!!!) Jacob and I were walking to the bus stop the other day and he was complaining about being COLD, it was 70, and he was COLD. I told him he was from Colorado and he is not allowed to be cold when it is 70 outside!!! What is happening to us, we're becoming total wimps out her in TX!
