Snow in Texas?!?!?!?
No it was more like ice, but the kids still loved it! Those of you reading this that are from Colorado know what I mean, this was man made snow, you know the stuff they use at the beginning of ski season? The ice? The slush? Yuck, true snowbirds would never call this "snow". But, I digress...Like I was saying, the kids LOVED it. The pictures explain it all....
Pure excitement and anticipation on Jacob's face!
Notice the green grass? Gotta love Texas! ;)
The first sled ride of the season!
Jacob, Sam and Samantha
Our little neighbor loved taking care of Jordan :)

We baked cookies today
with some friends and I think we may have enough to last until the next holiday season! The kids had a great time decorating, especially Jordan! I took my eyes off her for 10 seconds and she managed to dump an entire bottle of sprinkles on one cookie. We're saving that cookie for Josh, I'm sure he'll be thrilled the sweets lover that he is ;)
Who can resist that face?!?
Who can resist that face?!?
15 days and counting!
I will NEVER tell my kids so far in advance when we are going to visit Colorado! I made reservations months ago and everyday Jordan feels the need to tell me "At Christmastime I'm going to Colorado" Both kids are soooooooooooooo excited. Now we only have 15 days, thank God, because they are driving me crazy!
Jordan is going to be famous...
Well not really, but this may be her 15 minutes of fame so I am going to eat it up! She is going to be on the homepage of healthykids.com on December 15. I know it's not a huge deal but I'm really excited! Healthy kids is a subsidiary of BHG and American Baby. Mark you calendars! lol I'll post a screenshot when it's up. I'm so proud ::sniff::sniff::

Josh was thinking about me today at work, he's so thoughtful...
He sent me this quiz. Does it apply to you?

In case you're wondering (which I KNOW you are) I scored a mere 37, so no, i am NOT an internet addict (my kids might tell differently though)

What a difference 1,000 miles makes...
It was a mild 65 degrees while trick or treating, Jordan didn't start getting chilly until we were on our way home. This was the first year we didn't base our costume choices on the weather, which is great since Jordan wanted to be Tinkerbell (or the butterfly princess as she is known to her ;) The kids had a great time, and we probably have enough candy to last until next year!

Why did I have kids?
Some days I need a little reminding as to why I put myself in the position of constant worry. Jacob is becoming very interested in skateboarding, I swear although he is one of the most athletic kids I know, he's also one of the most daring. It could also be that in my old(er) age I am just becoming a nervous wreck!
Jordan on the other hand can't exactly be classified as daring, she's just insane. Nothing scares this child, she is a mix between overly confident and just plain crazy!

On the Edge...
of a breakdown! Jacob has been sick for the last 9 days. Not just the run of mill cold, either. Full blown throwing up, severe abdominal cramping, coughing, and sore throat. After 2 trips to the ER, 4 days of missed school and a trip to the pediatrician we have an initial diagnosis, walking pneumonia (http://www.drgreene.com/21_206.html). His Dr. isn't sure that this is what he has, but has decided to treat him for it and see if it works. He is now on an anti-spasmotic and erythomycin. We take him back to the doc on Friday for a recheck, let's hope he's on the mend by then!
As if that isn't enough, Josh went to the Dr. today and it looks like he will be needing an esophageal angioplasty sometime in the near future. The procedure seems to be fairly straight forward, and the recovery should be easy as well. Here's more info: http://www.gihealth.com/html/education/photo/esophagealDilation.html
We made our travel plans for Christmas! We are so excited to be going home for the holidays. The kids can't wait, I probably shouldn't have told them , they're already asking how long till we leave! We get into Denver on December 17 and will be in town until January 4! Can't wait!

I'm jumping on the blog bandwagon...
Since the move we've found it to be even harder to keep in touch with all of our friends and family, maybe this will make it a little easier!
Life has been crazy here, not that that is anything out of the ordinary ;) Jacob has been in Kindergarten for 3 weeks now, and he is loving it. He doesn't tell me a whole lot about what he's learning, but I do hear about kids pooping on the floor, getting the dreaded "red star" for misbehaving and other general misgivings that go on in Kindergarten! Every other day he has Wellness (known to the rest of us as P.E.), on alternating days he has music and art. He was very upset last week because it was Grandparents Day and all the G-Parents came to school...except for his :( Talk about guilt...
Jordan is the same old spit fire she has been for God knows how long. She is full of personality, I find myself laughing out loud at her every day, she has the greatest facial expressions and voice inflections, she really is a funny little girl. She is lonely without her brother, so I am on a quest to find her a playgroup so she can make some friends, and maybe I'll find some too!
We're looking forward to the weather cooling off here. The summer wasn't nearly as miserable as we had expected but now that we're consistently in the low 90's we are really enjoying the "cool" down (how ridiculous that 90's is a COOL down!!!) Jacob and I were walking to the bus stop the other day and he was complaining about being COLD, it was 70, and he was COLD. I told him he was from Colorado and he is not allowed to be cold when it is 70 outside!!! What is happening to us, we're becoming total wimps out her in TX!
